Asana Integrations with Bit Flows – Automate Task & Project Workflows

Estimated reading: 5 minutes 255 views

Asana Integrations: Work anytime, anywhere with Asana. Keep remote and distributed teams, and your entire organization, focused on their goals, projects, and tasks with Asana.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to integrate Bit Form with Asana, where Bit Form serves as the trigger and Asana acts as the action. Once the setup is complete, a new task will be automatically created in Asana every time someone submits your form.

This beginner-friendly, step-by-step tutorial will help you configure your first automation quickly and easily—making it simple to connect your WordPress forms with your Asana project management workflows.

Authorization of Asana Integrations as Action

To set Asana as an action in Bit Flows, first open your Bit Flows Dashboard, then either create a new flow or open an existing one. In the Flow Builder, click the plus (+) icon to add an action. From the list of available apps, search for and select Asana.

After selecting your preferred action, the next step is to choose an event. For example, in this case, we’ve selected the “Create Task” event.

  • Create Task

After selecting the action event, a new popup will appear. Here, you need to connect your Asana account. If you’ve already connected Asana before and want to use the same account, simply select it from the “Select Connection” dropdown. If not, click on “Add Connection” to create a new one.

If you’ve already created a connection earlier and want to use it with the same account, simply select it from the “Select Connection” dropdown. This saves time and avoids creating duplicate connections.

When you click the Add Connection button, you’ll be asked to enter a name for your connection and provide your API token.

To set up Asana integrations with Bit Flows, you’ll need Asana API Token. Follow these steps to get it.

  • Log in to your Asana account or click on the “Asana API Token” option.
  • Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner, then go to settings.
  • Navigate to the “Apps” tab and scroll down to “Build new apps.” Click on the developer console link.
  • Under “Personal Access Tokens,” click “Create New Token.”
  • Name your token and then click “Create Token.”
  • Click “Copy” to copy the token.
  • Paste the token into the “Token” field.

Once you have successfully entered your Asana API Token, click “Connect” button to proceed.

Project: Select the project that you have already created on your Asana account from the drop-down menu.

Sections: Select the Section that you have already created on your Asana account from the drop-down menu.

Tasks: Select the Task that you have already created on your Asana account from the drop-down menu.

Tags: Select the Tags that you have already created on your Asana account from the drop-down menu.

Field Mapping: Here, you’ll see a “Map Fields” section where you need to map your form fields to the matching fields in Asana. The Name field is required by Asana, so make sure to map your form’s Name field to it. You can also click the “Add Column” button to map additional fields. Additionally, you can enhance your request logic using FlowMathString, and System functions.

Once you’ve finished these settings, you can either click the “Test Run” button to check if the integration is working correctly or simply close the popup to complete the setup.

When you click the Test Run button, the output will be displayed just above it. However, please note that Test Run results are not recorded in the logs.

You also have the option to test the full flow. You can either click “Listen Response” and then run the trigger event (e.g., submit the form), or use existing data to test the integration and make sure everything works correctly.

After completing all the steps, click the “Logs” icon at the top-right corner of the Flow Builder to view your integration logs. Logs help you verify if the trigger and action worked correctly and make it easier to spot and fix any issues.

That’s it! You’ve successfully set up an automation in Bit Flows to connect Bit Form with Asana. Now, whenever someone submits your form, a new task will be automatically created in your Asana project.

This integration helps you stay organized, streamline task management, and boost productivity with minimal effort. If you’d like further assistance or want to explore additional integrations, be sure to check out our comprehensive User Guide.
