Sendy Integration: Sendy is a self-hosted email newsletter application that sends trackable emails through Amazon SES. It is used to manage lists, subscribers, campaigns, and newsletters.

Bit Flows, a powerful WordPress automation plugin, integrates smoothly with Sendy, enabling you to use Sendy subscriber events to trigger a Bit Flows workflow without coding.

Connecting Sendy with Bit Flows is straightforward and takes just a few simple steps. Once set up, you can automate your Sendy workflow reliably.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to connect Sendy to Bit Flows and create an automated workflow triggered by form submissions, making your email marketing more efficient.

Step 1: Create or Open a Flow in Bit Flows

First, go to your Bit Flows Dashboard, click on Flows, and then either create a new flow or open an existing one.

Next, you need to select your Sendy subscribe form to receive test data. If you’re unsure how to find the form, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Sendy dashboard.
  2. Click Rules → select your created list and then select Subscribe Form.
  3. Copy the form URL and paste it into your browser, or add it to your website to use the form.

After all, to receive test data, click on the “Listen Response” button, then go and submit the form you selected.

You’re all set! You have successfully set up Sendy as your trigger with Bit Flows.

Step 4: Add Google Sheets as the Action App

After finishing these steps, close the pop-up and click the plus (+) icon to add an Action. Click on “Set Action” to choose where the subscriber data should go. In this case, we choose Google Sheets as an action.

If you select Google Sheets for the action, as we did, you will see the available events that can be performed. For example, when you click on Google Sheets, the available events are “Add Row” and “Append or Update Row.”

This means that whenever the trigger event runs, a row of your data will be added to Google Sheets. We selected the Add Row event.

Step 5: Connect your Google Account

After selecting Add Row, Bit Flows will ask you to choose a Google Sheets connection. If you have already connected the same Google account before, select it from the dropdown.

If this is your first time, click Add Connection. Add a connection name so you can recognize it later. Then enter the required Client ID and Client Secret from your Google Console app, and complete the connection process.

Additionally, you can set a connection name to easily identify it for future use. Remember, for the same Google account, you won’t need to connect again. Next time, simply select the connection from the drop-down list. If you are unsure how to obtain these credentials, then follow the Google Sheets integrations guide.

You only need to connect the same Google account once. Next time, you can select the saved connection instead of creating a new one.

Step 6: Map Sendy Fields with Google Sheets

After completing authorization, you’ll find a Field Mapping feature. Here, you can link your form’s fields to the appropriate fields in the Google Sheets.

For example:

  • Sendy email → Google Sheets Email column
  • Sendy name → Google Sheets Name column

Once you’ve finished these settings, you can either click the “Test Run” button to check if the integration is working correctly or simply close the pop-up to complete the setup.

Step 7: Test the Full Flow

After setting up the trigger and actions, you can test your flow to verify if the integration is working correctly. To do this, simply click on Test Flow Once. Then, complete the trigger event, which in this case is Sendy Form Submit.

Test your automation regularly and make adjustments as needed to ensure your email campaigns run smoothly.
