How to Use Tags in Bit Flows for Workflow Management

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 1092 views

In this documentation, we will show you how to use Tags in Bit Flows to efficiently organise and categorise your workflows. Tags help group workflows based on specific categories, making it easier to manage and locate them, especially with a large number of workflows.

After reading this guide, you will learn how to create, assign, and use Tags to keep your workflows organised. This feature helps improve productivity by reducing the time spent searching for specific workflows.

By the end of this setup, you will have a well-organised workflow structure using Tags, enabling faster navigation and better management of your automation tasks.

Add a Tag

First, you need to create a tag. To create a tag, navigate to the Flows section in Bit Flows. In the Flows section, you will see the All option under Flows. Next to All, there is a Three Dot Menu. Click on this menu, and a Tags popup will appear.

Now, click on Add Tag to create a new tag. This will open a popup asking you to input a name for your tag. Enter the name and click on the Save button.

Congratulations! You have successfully created a tag.

If there are any existing tags, they will be displayed in the popup. You can click on any tag from the popup to filter the workflows associated with that tag. This makes it easier to organise and find specific workflows efficiently.

You can also pin, edit, or delete your tags. Simply click on the Three Dot Menu to open the popup displaying all available tags.

  • To pin a tag: Click on the pin icon next to the tag to mark it as a pinned tag for quick access.
  • To edit a tag: Click on the pen icon, update the tag name, and save the changes.
  • To delete a tag: Click on the delete icon next to the tag you want to remove.

This allows you to manage your tags easily and keep your workflows organised.

Add Tags to a Workflow

To add tags to a workflow, click on the three-dot menu located to the left of the workflow’s active and inactive toggle. This will display options like Edit, Settings, and Delete.

Next, click on the Edit option. A popup will appear, displaying your flow title and tags.

Under the Tags section, click on the drop-down to view all available tags. In this case, we have only one tag created. To add a tag, simply click on it. After adding the tag(s), click on the Update button to save the changes.

If needed, you can add multiple tags.

If you wish to remove a tag from the workflow, click on the (x) icon next to the tag and then click on Update to finalize the removal.

Test The Tags

After creating a tag and associating it with workflows, let’s test if the tag is working properly. Here, I will add the created tag to a workflow. Then, I’ll filter using the tag to verify its functionality. Next, I will add the same tag to two other workflows and check if the tag works correctly across all of them.
