FormyChat Integration with Bit Flows: Automate WhatsApp Form in WordPress

FormyChat is a WordPress plugin that helps you connect contact forms and WooCommerce with WhatsApp by using a click-to-chat widget. You can use it to let visitors contact your business through WhatsApp from your website.

Bit Flows is a no-code automation plugin for WordPress that helps you connect plugins, apps, and online tools from one visual workflow builder. You can use it to capture data from WordPress plugins and use that data inside automated workflows.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to use FormyChat as a trigger in Bit Flows. Once the setup is complete, a FormyChat event, such as a form submission, can start a workflow in Bit Flows.

Requirements

Before starting, make sure you have:

• Bit Flows installed and activated.
• FormyChat installed and activated.

Install and prepare FormyChat

Open your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New. Search for FormyChat, then find Contact Form to Chat Apps | Click to Chat to Order – FormyChat in the results. Click Install and then activate the plugin.

Step 01: Set up the FormyChat widget

Open FormyChat from your WordPress dashboard and create a new widget. Enter a widget name so you can identify it later, then choose how you want to display the widget. Select Single if you want to use one WhatsApp agent, then set WhatsApp Number as the send-to option and enter the WhatsApp number with the country code. Save the widget setup so the configuration is ready to use.

Step 02: Customize the widget

Go to the widget customization step to control how the widget looks and where it appears. Choose the widget icon, then select the icon size and choose the icon position on the page. Enable the widget for desktop, mobile, or both depending on where you want it shown, and add the call-to-action text if you want a short prompt to appear next to the icon.

Step 03: Finish the setup

Go to the Greetings step and enable the greeting popup if you want a message to appear automatically when a visitor lands on the page. Review the FormyChat setup to make sure the widget name, display options, and WhatsApp number are correct, then click the final setup button to apply everything. Wait for the setup to complete, then click Done when you see Setup Finished.

Set up FormyChat as a trigger

Step 04: Select FormyChat as the trigger app

Open your WordPress dashboard and go to Bit Flows, then click Create Flow to open the Flow Builder. Go to the Trigger section and click Select an App to see the available trigger apps. Search for FormyChat, select it from the trigger app list, and choose the trigger event. For this example, select Form Submitted so the flow runs each time a visitor submits a FormyChat form.

Step 05: Select the widget

Open the FormyChat trigger popup and go to the Widget field. Select the widget you want to track so Bit Flows knows which FormyChat form to listen to; for this example, select Widget 1. Click Listen Response to put the trigger into listening mode, which means Bit Flows waits for the next matching event and captures its data. Keep the Bit Flows tab open, since Bit Flows will now wait for a FormyChat form submission.

The listener stops automatically after 3 minutes, so submit the FormyChat form while the listener is active.

Step 06: Submit a test FormyChat form

Open the page where the FormyChat widget is active, then open the FormyChat widget to display the form. Enter the test form details, filling in fields such as name, email, phone, dropdown, and message so the captured data has realistic values to map later. Click Send on WhatsApp to submit the form, which sends the event to Bit Flows.

Step 07: Review the captured response

Return to the Bit Flows tab and check the response area. When the event is captured, you should see Response captured, which confirms that FormyChat sent the submitted form data to Bit Flows. Review the Captured Response section and confirm that the submitted form data is available, since this is what you will map in the next step. Click Close to finish the trigger setup.

Captured response data is the sample data Bit Flows receives from FormyChat. This data lets you use FormyChat submission information, such as the name, email, and message, inside the later steps of the flow.

Troubleshooting

Issue	What to check
FormyChat does not appear in the Bit Flows app list	Make sure FormyChat is installed and activated on the same WordPress site.
