Easy Digital Downloads Integration as an Action with Bit Flows

Easy Digital Downloads Integration: Easy Digital Downloads is a complete eCommerce solution for selling digital files, software, ebooks, music, and other downloadable products on WordPress. It offers flexible pricing, license keys, subscriptions, and professional customer management tools.

Bit Flows is a WordPress automation plugin that allows you to connect different tools and automate tasks without any coding. It helps businesses build powerful workflow automation by connecting apps and moving data between them automatically.

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to automate Easy Digital Downloads with Bit Flows in 6 steps:

1. Create Integration
2. Select Bit Form as the Trigger app
3. Add Easy Digital Downloads as an Action app
4. Connect Easy Digital Downloads
5. Test the automation
6. Check the integration log

Step 01: Create a New Integration

First, open your Bit Flows Dashboard, then either create a new flow or open an existing one. In the Flow Builder, first click the plus (+) icon to add a trigger as you wish. In this setup, Bit Form serves as the trigger and Easy Digital Downloads as the action.

Step 02: Select Bit Form as the Trigger

From the trigger app list, search for Bit Form and select it. Then choose the exact form you want to use for this automation. After selecting the form, capture or fetch the sample form data. This sample data is important because Bit Flows will use it later when you map Bit Form fields with Easy Digital Downloads fields.

Step 03: Add Easy Digital Downloads as the Action App

After setting the trigger, click the plus icon again to add an action. Search for Easy Digital Downloads from the app list and select it.

After selecting Easy Digital Downloads as an action, the next step is to choose an event. In this case, we selected the Create Purchase or Order event.

Step 04: Start the Easy Digital Downloads Connection

A new pop-up will appear to add the Customer Email, Download ID and First Name. To connect them, select and add your Customer Email, then add the Download ID and First Name field from your trigger form.

Once you’ve finished these settings, you can either click the “Test Run” button to check if the integration is working correctly or simply close the pop-up to complete the setup.

Step 05: Test the Full Flow with a Form Submission

After setting up the trigger and actions, you can test your flow to verify if the integration is working correctly. To do this, simply click on Test Flow Once. Then complete the trigger event, which in this case is Bit Form Submit.

Step 06: Check the Integration Log

After the test, open the Logs section from the top right corner of the flow screen. There, you can verify whether the Trigger and Action worked successfully.

If the log status shows Success, the Easy Digital Downloads action is working correctly. Now, whenever someone submits the selected Bit Form, Bit Flows will use the mapped data to create a purchase or order in Easy Digital Downloads.

You can click Details in the Bit Flows log to review the submitted data, mapped fields, and Easy Digital Downloads response.
