GetGist Integrations: By bringing your company’s communication with your leads and customers in one place, Gist lets your entire team rally around a single app for day to day work.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to integrate Bit Form with GetGist, where Bit Form acts as the trigger and GetGist is the action. Once the integration is complete, a new subscriber will be automatically added to your GetGist list every time someone submits your form.

This beginner-friendly, step-by-step tutorial is designed to make setup simple and quick—helping you grow your email list, improve engagement, and manage contacts seamlessly right from your WordPress site.

Authorization of GetGist Integrations as Action

To set GetGist as an action in Bit Flows, first open your Bit Flows Dashboard, then either create a new flow or open an existing one. In the Flow Builder, click the plus (+) icon to add an action. From the list of available apps, search for and select GetGist.

After selecting your preferred action, the next step is to choose an event. For example, in this case, we’ve selected the “Create Contact” event.

  • Create Contact

After selecting the action event, a new popup will appear. Here, you need to connect your GetGist account. If you’ve already connected GetGist before and want to use the same account, simply select it from the “Select Connection” dropdown. If not, click on “Add Connection” to create a new one.

If you’ve already created a connection earlier and want to use it with the same account, simply select it from the “Select Connection” dropdown. This saves time and avoids creating duplicate connections.

When you click the Add Connection button, you’ll be prompted to enter a name for your connection and supply your Token as value.

To set up GetGist integrations with Bit Flows, you’ll need GetGist API Key. Follow these steps to get it.

  • Navigate to your GetGist account and log in.
  • Click on the “Settings” tab.
  • In the left-hand menu, choose “API & Webhooks“.
  • Click on “API key“.
  • Copy the displayed API key.
  • Head over to the integration page and paste the copied API key into the designated field.

Once you have successfully entered your GetGist Token, click “Connect” button to proceed.

Add Tags: In the GetGist integrations, you can assign tags to your contacts.

Field Mapping: Here, you’ll see a “Map Fields” section where you need to map your form fields to the matching fields in GetGist. The “Email” field is required by GetGist, so make sure to map your form’s Email field to it. You can also click the “Add Column” button to map additional fields. Additionally, you can enhance your request logic using FlowMathString, and System functions.

Override Existing: Update the existing lead information with the latest responses.

Once you’ve finished these settings, you can either click the “Test Run” button to check if the integration is working correctly or simply close the popup to complete the setup.

When you click the Test Run button, the output will be displayed just above it. However, please note that Test Run results are not recorded in the logs.

You also have the option to test the full flow. You can either click “Listen Response” and then run the trigger event (e.g., submit the form), or use existing data to test the integration and make sure everything works correctly.

After completing all the steps, click the “Logs” icon at the top-right corner of the Flow Builder to view your integration logs. Logs help you verify if the trigger and action worked correctly and make it easier to spot and fix any issues.

That’s it! You’ve successfully created an automation in Bit Flows to connect Bit Form with GetGist. Now, whenever someone submits your form, a new contact will be automatically added to your GetGist list.

This integration helps you grow your audience, automate workflows, and manage customer engagement—directly from your WordPress site. For more assistance or to explore additional integration options, be sure to check out our comprehensive User Guide.
