IvyForms Integration with Bit Flows: Automate WordPress Form Submission

IvyForms is a WordPress form builder plugin that helps you create contact forms, registration forms, order forms, and custom forms from your WordPress dashboard.

Bit Flows is a no-code automation plugin for WordPress that helps you connect plugins, apps, and online tools from one visual workflow builder. You can use it to capture data from WordPress plugins and use that data inside automated workflows.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to use IvyForms as a trigger in Bit Flows.

Once the setup is complete, an IvyForms event, such as a form submission, can start a workflow in Bit Flows.

Requirements

Before starting, make sure you have:

• Bit Flows installed and activated.
• IvyForms installed and activated.
• An IvyForms form created.

Install and prepare IvyForms

Step 01: Install IvyForms

Open your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New. Search for IvyForms, then find The Innovative Form Builder – IvyForms in the results. Click Install Now, wait for the plugin to download, then click Activate to enable it on your site.

Step 02: Create a new IvyForms form

Open IvyForms from your WordPress dashboard and go to All forms. Click the “+ Form” button to start creating a new form.

Create a new form. Use a clear form name, such as Contact form.

Step 03: Add form fields

Open the IvyForms form builder and add the fields you need for your form. For this example, use First name, Last name, Email address, Subject, and Message so the form collects the details this workflow will use. Check that the Submit button is available so visitors can send the form, then click Update to save the form.

Open the form preview. Check that all fields appear correctly. Keep the preview page ready. You will submit this form after clicking Listen Response in Bit Flows.

Set up IvyForms as a trigger

Step 04: Create a new flow and select IvyForms as the trigger

Open your WordPress dashboard and go to Bit Flows, then click Create Flow. Enter a flow name that describes what the workflow does, such as IvyForms Form Submission Automation, so you can identify it later. Once the flow opens, go to the Trigger section and click Select an App to see the available trigger apps. Search for IvyForms, then select it from the trigger app list so its trigger events become available.

Open the IvyForms trigger popup and go to the Forms field. Select the form you want to track so Bit Flows knows which IvyForms form to listen to. For this example, select Contact form.

Step 05: Start listening for response

Click Listen Response to put the trigger into listening mode. Keep the Bit Flows tab open, since Bit Flows will now wait for an IvyForms form submission. The listener stops automatically after 3 minutes, so submit the IvyForms form while the listener is active.

Step 06: Submit a test IvyForms form

Open the IvyForms form preview page and enter the test form details. Fill in the first name, last name, email address, subject, and message so the captured data has realistic values to map later. Click Submit to send the form, which sends the event to Bit Flows.

Step 07: Review the captured response

Return to the Bit Flows tab and check the response area. When the event is captured, review the Captured Response section and confirm that the form data is available, since this is what you will map in the next step. Click Close to finish the trigger setup.

Captured response data is the sample data Bit Flows receives from IvyForms. This data lets you use IvyForms submission information, such as the name, email, subject, and message, inside the later steps of the flow.

Troubleshooting

Issue	What to check
IvyForms does not appear in the Bit Flows app list	Make sure IvyForms is installed and activated on the same WordPress site.
Form does not appear in the Forms dropdown	Create and save an IvyForms form first, then refresh the Forms field.
Response is not captured	Click Listen Response again and submit the IvyForms form while the listener is active.
Form data is missing	Submit a test form with complete field values, then capture the response again.
Wrong form data is captured	Make sure the selected form matches the form submitted on the frontend.

You’ve now connected IvyForms with Bit Flows as a trigger. When the selected IvyForms form is submitted, Bit Flows can capture the response data from IvyForms and make it available inside the flow.
