The Story Behind Bit Integrations and Bit Flows: Two Tools, Two Unique Missions

Since the announcement of Bit Integrations and Bit Flows on December 21, 2021, we’ve received several questions from our users and community members about why we chose to develop two automation plugins. We’ve already addressed these questions across various platforms, including our Facebook groups, AppSumo, and support channels (Reference links are provided below).

With the release of Bit Flows approaching, we believe it’s the right time to publish a statement (blog) explaining why we decided to build Bit Flows, even though we already have an automation plugin, Bit Integrations.

The Origin Of Bit Integrations

We have developed Bit Integrations, a WordPress integration and automation plugin. It operates with a straightforward, single-step workflow. For example, when a WordPress form is submitted or an order is created in WooCommerce, the data is sent directly to your connected Google Sheet, CRM, or email marketing tool.

However, each flow handles only one destination at a time. For instance, you can send form submission data to Google Sheets or Mailchimp, but not both within the same flow—you would need to create separate flows for each.

The plugin does not include advanced features like scheduling, delays, routers, repeaters, arrays, iterators, or filters. It’s designed to keep things simple and efficient for single-step integrations.

We had a plan to develop an advanced automation and integration plugin called Bit Flows, which is designed to support multi-step workflows. Bit Flows will include powerful features such as scheduling, delays, routers, repeaters, arrays, iterators, filters, and more.

A key distinction from Bit Integrations is that Bit Flows will extend beyond WordPress. While Bit Integrations is entirely WordPress-based for triggers and offers use-case-specific actions (e.g., CRM, email marketing, and data management applications like Google Sheets, Airtable, and Notion), Bit Flows will support triggers and actions across multiple platforms. For example, it will include triggers from platforms like Shopify and actions for almost any software that will not be use case based like Bit Integrations.

Why Did We Develop Two Applications Within a Similar Niche?

Most WordPress-based websites include a contact form, and many also use WooCommerce, LMS, or membership systems. These can be easily automated using Bit Integrations, making it an ideal solution for its target audience. Currently, over 15,000 users rely on Bit Integrations to automate their WordPress websites effectively.

On the other hand, Bit Flows is designed to function like Zapier (or more closely, n8n) but inside WordPress. Not using WordPress for your website? No problem. You can install Bit Flows on a subdomain and automate your entire business, just like you would with Zapier. This approach offers significant cost savings while providing robust automation capabilities.

Both applications have been developed to serve distinct customer bases and markets. Bit Integrations is designed for regular WordPress users, providing simple and effective automation solutions. In contrast, Bit Flows targets agencies focused on automation-based services, offering advanced features and greater flexibility to meet their specialized needs.

Will Users Who Already Bought Bit Integrations Feel Misled?

On December 21, 2021, we announced on our Facebook group that we would develop two automation plugins: Bit Integrations and Bit Flows.

We launched Bit Integrations LTD on AppSumo in March 2022. This means we made the announcement about both plugins before releasing our first automation plugin, ensuring transparency and preventing any feelings of deception among our users.

We could have chosen to announce the Bit Flows later, but we intentionally shared this information before releasing Bit Integrations. To further demonstrate our transparency, we pinned the announcement in the Facebook group from the day it was made. We also announced multiple times that there would be two separate upcoming products, ensuring complete clarity from the start. [1], [2]

Many users asked why we were building two applications in a similar niche. We addressed these queries openly across various platforms, including Facebook, AppSumo, and support channels. There was no attempt to hide anything from our end. We’ve always prioritized clear communication with our users and community.

Even when people didn’t specifically ask about Bit Flows, we proactively mentioned that we were working on Bit Flows, a more advanced automation plugin, to ensure transparency and keep everyone informed.

From the very first day of Bit Integrations‘ release, we made it clear that both products—Bit Integrations and Bit Flows—would be entirely different in every aspect, including pricing, subscription, development, and marketing. [1], [2]

Another important point to emphasize is that we have always been clear that all triggers in Bit Integrations would remain WordPress-based, with actions added on a use-case basis (primarily for CRM and email marketing). Whenever users asked about triggers outside WordPress or requested advanced features such as routers, multi-step workflows, or delays, we consistently clarified that these were not part of our plans for Bit Integrations. However, we also made it clear that these advanced functionalities, including non-WordPress triggers, would be introduced as part of Bit Flows. [1], [2], [3], [4]

In short, the Bit Integrations deal is not connected to or related to Bit Flows in any way. In fact, the pricing, subscriptions, deals, or terms of any of our current or future products are entirely independent and are not tied to or influenced by one another. Each product operates as a standalone offering.

With the Release of Bit Flows, What Does the Future Hold For Bit Integrations?

If you regularly follow our products, you’ll notice that we consistently add new features, improvements, and fixes. Whether it’s a free or paid product, we continue to develop and enhance it. Additionally, we have dedicated teams assigned to each product.

You don’t need to worry about the future of Bit Integrations—we will keep adding new integrations (WordPress based trigger and related actions), just as we have been doing since its release (Review Our Changelog for Free and Pro Versions).

Check out our yearly 2024 Blog on Bit Integrations to see the immense effort our team has dedicated to this product.

FYI: As of today, Bit Integrations currently has the highest number of plugins and apps integrated (244) among WordPress plugins. We are committed to continuously adding more integrations.

Changelog for All of Our Products:
Bit Integrations [1] [2], Bit Form [1] [2], Bit File Manager (free), Bit Social [1] [2], Bit Assist [1] [2], Bit SMTP (free)
